One canvas, not ten squares.
Most carousel tools give you ten separate slots, and it shows: the eye stops at every cut. Pressbook lays the whole carousel out on a single wide canvas, so a photo can run across three panels, a headline can bridge two, and a video can sit mid-stream while stills flank it. On export, each panel is sliced at exactly the cut you saw, so the swipe reassembles the canvas in your reader's thumb.
Tap any panel to focus it, give it its own layout, or add one more. Ten is the ceiling because that is Instagram's.
