Independent software studio

Software that respects you.

Privacy-first apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. On-device compute, local storage, zero servers in your data path. Pressbook, Graycard, and Fia are on the App Store now.

On iPhone, 68% of apps send your data to trackers before you tap anything. Ours send nothing.

Every line of code we write starts with one question: how do we build something useful that doesn’t need your data?

Privacy is architecture,not policy.

Most apps ask you to trust a policy. Ours are built so there is nothing to trust: the guarantees are physical properties of the system.

  1. Compute

Everything intelligent happens on the Neural Engine and GPU you already own. Pressbook runs five Vision requests per photo without a single byte leaving the room.

runs on: neural engine + gpu · bytes out: 0

  2. Storage

Your files live in the iOS sandbox under FileProtectionType.complete, the strongest iOS data-protection tier, with encryption keys held in Apple hardware, not by us.

  3. Network

There is no server in the path of your data. We cannot sell what we never collect, we cannot be subpoenaed for what we cannot read, and we cannot leak what we do not have.

From the lab.

Fewer apps on purpose. Each rebuilds a category the cloud-first default quietly broke.

Cull the shoot. Grade the color. On your Mac.

Open a card or folder of RAW, JPEG, or HEIF. Auto-cull flags the frames you would reject, Graycard Auto grades the color on the keepers, and the JPEGs land in a folder you choose. Files are read in place: nothing is copied into a library, and nothing is uploaded.

  • reads RAW, JPEG, and HEIF in place
  • on-device Auto-cull
  • Graycard Auto color grading
  • copy look and lock white balance
  • JPEG and 16-bit TIFF, XMP sidecars
  • macOS 26+, no account

Kegels, your cycle, food for this week.

Pelvic floor training, cycle tracking, and food for the week you’re in, from pregnancy and after birth through menopause. Built for the category where cloud-first defaults do the most damage: your logs stay on your iPhone, with no account and no analytics.

  • 12-week pelvic floor journey
  • 13 pelvic floor programs
  • next period as a range of days
  • 40 recipes, 11 cuisines
  • an Apple Watch app

What we commit to.

Every product decision either reinforces these or breaks them. There is no middle ground.

  1. 01

    Privacy by default

Nothing that identifies you. No ad networks, no tracking, no required accounts. Analytics, where an app has it, stays off until you turn it on and carries no name or account.

proof: no ad or attribution SDK in any shipped build

  2. 02

    Evidence-based design

Features that touch behavior or wellbeing are grounded in published research and validated through structured user testing, not engagement metrics.

proof: Fia follows NICE clinical guidelines

  3. 03

    Human-centered

Accessibility from the first commit: VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, reduced motion, color contrast. Built for people who do not have time to audit data practices.

proof: accessibility reviewed before every release

  4. 04

    Craft and quality

Fewer products on purpose. Every interaction reviewed, every animation tuned. Slower output, denser quality.

proof: two apps, years of polish, nothing rushed

  1. SideSwipe Labs is an independent software studio making privacy-first apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. Three are on the App Store: Pressbook for photo albums, carousels, and collages, Graycard for turning a RAW shoot into JPEGs ready to share, and Fia for kegels and period tracking. Your photos and health logs stay on your device.

  2. Photos and health logs stay on the device. Fia has no analytics. In Pressbook and Graycard, optional analytics is off until you turn it on; when it is on, they send anonymized events and an anonymous install ID to PostHog in the EU. That data is not linked to your name, and it is not used to track you across other companies’ apps. There is no account.

  3. All three are free to download. Pressbook is on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and its site is pressbook.app. Graycard is on the Mac App Store, and its site is graycard.io. Fia is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, with an Apple Watch app, and its site is dearfia.com. Each site has the app’s guides or blog, its support, and its policies.

  4. Every app offers a free tier with no account required. Pressbook Pro is $4.99/month, $29.99/year, or $79.99 lifetime. See Pressbook pricing. Graycard is free to download, and your first 80 photos are free to export. Graycard Pro is $9.99/month, $29.99/year, or $59.99 lifetime. Fia Plus is a monthly plan, a yearly plan, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. The price is set for each country and shown in the App Store before you buy. No recurring charge on Lifetime.

  5. No. All SideSwipe Labs apps work without an account or sign-in. Your data is stored locally on your device. There is no login and no email verification. Optional analytics stays off until you turn it on.

  6. Pressbook runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 18+) and Mac (macOS 15+). Graycard runs on Mac (macOS 26+), with Apple silicon or Intel. Fia runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 18+), with an Apple Watch app (watchOS 11+).

We don’t want to know who you are.

The simplest privacy guarantee is the one you don’t have to read a policy to verify.
